Comfort Food
My birthday was spent solely with my fiancée and my mom. I could have eaten dinner anywhere, but, having woken up anxious, I just wanted "comfort food." So, on that night, I requested barbeque. I had a brisket sandwich, baked beans, fries, and pudding.
Weeks before, after a year long hiatus, I began drawing comics again, primarily to get the stories I need to tell out of me. I've no idea if these will ever see print. However, I do know that it feels good to work on comics; I feel most myself, my highest self, when doing so.
Maybe I would have felt less anxious on my birthday had I spent some time drawing. I'm glad I did spend that evening with loved ones though. My mom, whose health hasn't been so good, keeps casually saying, "if I'm still alive," when talking about not-so-distant future plans.
I also recently started putting rosemary, thyme, basil, smoked paprika, and grated cheese in my oatmeal. It's kind of like eating a creamy cheese biscuit. And now today is the Autumnal Equinox.
Now that it's autumn, the days are getting shorter.
Now that I'm older, time keeps feeling faster...
one season into the next.
