A sight so picturesque
A fox, lean and scruffy, emerges from the tall grass into the afternoon light. She cautiously suspends a front paw midstep before darting off across the street into a patch of trees. A fox out at this hour must mean a fox with hungry mouths to feed; it is spring time, after all.
Soon, I spot more signs of the season. A flock of red winged blackbirds pecking at the ground. Squirrels munching on nuts. A red cardinal perched on a chain link fence. A mated pair of mallards resting in the shade. A small song bird driving a crow away. Further down the road, three fawns stand together atop a hill, a sight so picturesque that I feel you won't believe me if I describe it.
